Brida – Paulo Coelho

Just finished reading Brida. I love Paulo Coelho because his stories are simple yet profound and also, the tale is gripping. Even though I didn’t enjoy ‘Brida’ as much as I did “The Alchemist” or “The Fifth Mountain”, it’s a good read.

Brida is a girl in her early twenties, adrift and a little confused with the paths she has to choose. She is unsure of her choices because she is scared if she has to stick to a path, then it wouldn’t let her explore any other paths and thereby, locks her down. As always, few statements are wonderful.

The actual tale itself is too ritualistic (maybe because of the Magic involved) but has huge philosophical and spiritual (or is it religious) undertones.
